Used to create decorative beading on workpieces, the small blades are available in 1/8″, 3/16″ and 1/4″ bead diameters, and in right- and left-handed versions. While the blades for the small plow plane are handed, only the right-hand blades are used with the combination plane as right or left-handed cuts are accommodated simply by changing the side of the plane the fence is mounted on.
The large blades, for use only with our combination plane, are available in 5/16″, 3/8″, 7/16″ and 1/2″ bead diameters. All blades cut a 1/16″ groove on either side of the blade. Blades are available individually, or in sets.
Each blade has a 35° bevel angle. Made in Canada from PM-V11 tool steel.
Please note: Veritas small plow planes purchased before February 26, 2016, require a modification to the plane’s skate to use beading blades.
